Foreigners and Japanese citizens who live, work, or study in Arakawa City take a day trip together to one of the City’s domestic sister cities as an opportunity to deepen international exchange and understanding.

Japan-Austria Friendship Recital
As part of the friendship program between Arakawa City and the Donaustadt district of Vienna, Austria, young musicians are invited by the Austrian Embassy to give performances at the Japan-Austria Friendship Recital, organized in cooperation with the Japan-Austria Cultural Association and the Arakawa City Arts Culture Promotion Foundation (ACC). This event is sponsored jointly by the Tokyo Arakawa Lions Club, Tokyo Arakawa Nishi Lions Club, Tokyo Arakawa Rotary Club, and Tokyo Riverside Rotary Club.
Japanese Speech Contest
This event provides an opportunity for foreigners to share their experiences of living in Japan and deepen others’ understanding of foreigners living in the city.
