Traditional Culture Experience is an opportunity to take part in tea ceremony and flower arrangement.

In Sadō, learn about the refined practice and etiquette of the partaking of tea in the tea ceremony, a quintessential aspect of traditional Japanese culture.
In Kadō, learn the basics of Ikebana and its aesthetic appreciation of Japan’s four seasons, creating your own floral arrangements in this cultural exchange setting.

Participants experience how to put on a Yukata, a relatively easy to wear traditional Japanese “Kimono”; then go for a stroll around the Nippori area. The program takes place in early summer, when there are many opportunities to wear yukata, and we encourage participation in traditional summer events such as local Bon Odori and fireworks festivals.
